It makes perfect sense. We are emitting CO2 into the atmosphere at a rate faster than nature can absorb and convert it using its declining population of trees and plants. We, humans, responsible for the majority of increasing CO2 emissions, could use our intellect to devise a solution to turn that very CO2 into a form of renewal energy. It's all around us in abundance. The trick is to capture it, extrat it into a usable form and then create a renewal, self-sustaining cycle.
A Canadian company is doing just that... Carbon Engineering Sucking Carbon Out of the Air (read).
The human race may have hope after all. I just hope this isn't a profit-driven endeavour like most of the energy industry is. Profit should be a nice side effect of the effort.
